Who We Are   
      Kingsbury Montessori House of Children is an independent co-educational day school located in the beautiful town of Ootacamund in the Nilgiris.
     Kingsbury Montessori House was established by Ms. Shoshanah on 29th of June, 1984. The School was inaugurated by Mr. E. A. Hammick late principal of Laidlaw Memorial School, Ketti in the presence of family friends, and eminent members of the society in Devonshire House, Ootacamund where it still stands to this day. The school astarted with one student.
        Kingsbury is committed to supporting the wholesome growth and development of the human personality during the formative years of childhood. In this way we can assist the child, not only in his natural quest for knowledge and independence, but also in the task of developing himself and in striving to realize his potential. education as an aid to life -Dr. Maria Montessori

         Our vision is to create a child centered learning environment that involves families, educators, and the community in nurturing the whole child. We believe that school can provide creative, structured tools to support children in being active learners who think and work both independently and in a group.
